A 87,9 FM Rádio Alternativa de Monte Alto, foi inaugurada em 10/12/2005, de acordo com a concessão cedida pelo órgão regulamentador, apadrinhada pelo então prefeito Gilberto Morgado, com o objetivo de levar à população montealtense uma programação diversificada e sem cunho político.
