The BayFM Mission Statement is:

Independent community responsive radio, informing and entertaining, locally and globally.

Bay FM’s philosophy is that as a unifying facility for the community, the station broadcasts programm content that:

- reflects, responds and contributes to the ideas and aspirations of the Byron Shire community;

- exposes and discusses issues of importance to the community;

- provides information to link the diverse facets of the community, and celebrates the unique character of the Byron Shire;
